CVC CENTRAL - KANSAS CITY
At least 6,015 people converged on CVC Central the last week of August -- an increase from last year's event, conference organizers report. About 2,086 veterinarians attended the annual veterinary continuing education event along with 738 veterinary technicians, 1,532 exhibitors, 1.035 guests and others. CVC is owned by Advanstar Communications, the parent company of DVM Newsmagazine and DVM360.com.

WORLD PREDATOR HUNTER EXPO
This three-day, first-of-its-kind expo featured displays of hunting equipment, game calls, traps, and guns. Seminar topics and speakers ranged from trapping to deer management to hunting adventures. The event was held at the Overland Park Convention Center August 23, 24 and 25.
